Mary's Art

Celebrating Nature's Gifts through Art

My paintings celebrate the beauty of  shapes, values and textures in the world around me. I have a great respect for and love of nature  and draw inspiration from it.  I strive to celebrate nature's gifts  through my art.

My art journey started many years ago and has taken twists and turns along the way.  I have worked in a variety of mediums over the years including  oil, pastel, watercolor and some mixed media. Currently I am focusing on watercolor landscapes, although an occasional animal or floral will be seen.

There have been times when making art was not at the top of the to do list, but I have never lost my passion for it.   I always promised myself that when I retired I would paint more.  The pandemic added new incentive and painting became a means of dealing with the anxiety and isolation of that period. I have been creating art steadily since then.
